  1. Postmaster: Greeting Lowbanks, and Happy Holidays! Writing from Cambridge, Massachusetts. 617-750-0579. My family had a cottage at Lowbanks from about 1920 until I sold it in 1997. The address is 2924 Northshore Dr., NOA 1KO. The house was built by my grandfather James Johnston, and my mother, Jeane Johnston Emblidge, carried on there until she passed in 1994. They were all Canadians who had emigrated to the US for economic reasons, in the 19-teens. I am now writing a memoir about our family life at Lowbanks and in Buffalo. A key event was a storm in the early or mid-1950s that washed the dune out from under the house. We moved back to the roadside. Subsequent storms did more damage. I want to find someone in Lowbanks who could visit the property now and take photos showing what has happened to the shoreline and to the house. I do not have the current owners’ names. The storm of Dec 22-23 this week makes this a more urgent question. Can you suggest anyone I might write to or call? I would be very grateful. All the best to you and your staff. Lowbanks has a special place in my memory, that’s for sure.
